What to Know About Sculptra

Sculptra is a type of injectable filler that is made up a biodegradable and biocompatible substance called poly-L-lactic acid. It’s great for stimulating collagen production. Collagen is a protein that helps gives the skin its structure, firmness, and elasticity. As we age our bodies produce less collagen which can lead to wrinkles, sagging skin, and other signs of aging. Sculptra over time increases the collagen production in the treated area, leading to natural-looking improvement in skin texture, firmness, and volume over time. It’s best recommended to put Sculptra to the cheeks and temples. Sculptra is typically administered over several treatment sessions spaced weeks apart to achieve desired results. It offers a natural result by providing subtle volume.

There are many benefits to Sculptra injections. Firstly, Sculptra is non-invasive way of lifting the face. It can thicken the skin and is a way to avoid filler migration which tends to happen with traditional filler. Also, Sculptra is a treatment that can be done in less than an hour and requires no downtime. Once the treatment is done you’ll have results for the next two years. Which requires much less touch up than other brands of filler, which usually requires touch up once every couple of months. Furthermore, the results over time develop more and more to provide beautiful, natural results. Lastly, most fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. Contrastingly, Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid which tends to give patients little to no allergic reaction since its synthetic and gradually breaks down from the body.
